Robert Musto

 

Following honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps, Robert attended Seton Hall University. He then worked as a probation officer with the Middlesex County Probation Department, with the primary responsibility of juvenile supervision. Robert next attended Seton Hall Law School.

 

Robert is well versed in the area of family law. He completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Robert L. Garrenger, Jr., P.J.S.C, the then presiding judge of the Middlesex County Family Court. Robert has been a member of the Middlesex County Family Court Committee since 1981 and has been a panelist on the Middlesex County Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel (MESP) for over 25 years. The MESP makes recommendations for settlement of pending matrimonial cases.

 

Robert is also an experienced municipal court and criminal court defense attorney who has defended hundreds of clients facing consequences of magnitude. He has successfully defended many third offense DWI defendants facing mandatory incarceration. Robert served as a municipal prosecutor in Woodbridge Township from 1988 until 1992. He is certified in administration and scoring of Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) for detection of intoxication, assisted in SFST training of other attorneys and has spoken at presentations on the topic. Robert has also donated his time to Project Safe Surrender, acting pro bono on behalf of fugitives who were surrendering themselves.

 

Robert has been practicing law in Woodbridge Township, Middlesex County and the surrounding areas for over 30 years. Previously with a local Woodbridge firm, Robert opened his own office in 1985 and is a founding member of Musto & Alevras. Robert has represented thousands of clients in the criminal, municipal and family courts at the trial and appeal levels. Robert represented the prevailing parties in the reported Appellate Division cases of Carter v. Carter, 318 N.J. Super. 34 (App. Div. 1999) and Lentini v. Lentini, 236 N.J. Super. 233 (1989).

George Scott Alevras

 

George “Scott” Alevras is a Woodbridge native and graduated from Colonia High School in 1995. Scott is an alumni of Kean University, receiving his Bachelor of Arts cum laude in history. Scott earned his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 2005, graduating in the top 25% of his class. While at Brooklyn Law School, Scott concentrated in such areas as First Amendment law and law guardian advocacy of children.

 

Scott is admitted to the Bars of New Jersey and New York. He completed a legal externship with the Honorable Barry P. Sarkisian, J.S.C., Hudson County Law Division and an internship with the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

 

Scott joined the Law Office of Robert Musto in 2009 and is a founding member of Musto & Alevras. He is responsible for the criminal and municipal court areas of the practice, as well other areas of law such as real estate, domestic violence restraining orders, civil litigation, will drafting and business transactions.

 

Scott has successfully defended many defendants facing consequences of magnitude. He devotes a considerable amount of his required continuing legal education requirements to DWI defense. Scott is currently a substitute public defender in Woodbridge Township Municipal Court, defending indigent defendants when the public defender is not available. Scott has helped clients avoid terms of mandatory incarceration and has successfully appealed municipal court convictions to the Superior Courts of both Middlesex and Somerset County.
